Why should I choose Gizmogul?

Gizmogul takes a lot of pride in customer satisfaction. We offer our customers the best price on their old technology. We also have a charitable hand in all our transactions; for every phone we receive, one dollar is donated to help build schools in developing countries. Pretty cool huh?

How does Gizmogul work?

Easy like sunday mornings!

No really! We’ve worked diligently to provide you with the most seamless transaction, that you literally only have to walk as far as your mailbox.

Step 1: Select your device at Gizmogul.com and follow the sequence of steps.. If you do not see your device on our site then unfortunately we no longer purchase it. Don’t think you’re sneaky and select another device as if that is going to slide by us! You can however donate a device not listed on our site and we’ll ensure it is properly recycled.

Step 2: Proceed to the checkout and enter your information. This part is important so we get the mailer to the right address and more importantly we know who to issue the payment to.

Step 3: Once you get our mailer, package up your devices, place the return label on and drop it in your mailbox or at the post office. Once we receive your package our technicians will verify the device and your payment will be issued. If for any reason your device does not fit our mailer, you may use the label on another box that is suitable.

How do I determine the condition of my phone?

It is important to accurately rate the physical and functional condition of your item. These ratings are crucial to helping Gizmogul meet your expectations.

For iPhones, iPads & iPods

Select “Good” condition if….

✔ My device works and powers on
✔ My device may have some normal signs of wear
✔ The screen is not cracked
✔ The LCD is not damaged or missing pixels
✔ My device isn’t missing any buttons

Select “Broken” condition if…

✔ My device won’t turn on
✔ My device is missing buttons
✔ The LCD is broken or the screen is cracked
✔ The device itself is cracked or it has busted ports
✔ It’s water damaged

For Smartphones (other than Apple)

Select “Good” condition if….

✔ My device works and powers on
✔ My device may have some normal signs of wear
✔ The screen is not cracked
✔ The LCD is not damaged or missing pixels
✔ My device isn’t missing buttons

Select “Broken” condition if…

✔ My device won’t turn on
✔ My device is missing buttons

Apple Laptops

Select “Good” condition if….

✔ My macbook totally works

Select “Broken” condition if….

✔ My macbook won’t turn on

What if the device I send in is in worse condition than I selected on the form?

If we receive a device that is in worse condition then selected on our site, don’t worry, you won’t get arrested. Instead, we’ll send you a re-quote via email, which is valid for 5 days. If you do not accept or decline the requote in the allotted time the payment will automatically be processed. If you elect to decline the requote, Gizmogul will mail back your device free of charge.

What kind of devices does Gizmogul buy?

Gizmogul buys smartphones, tablets, iPhones, iPads, iPods and Apple laptops. Some of the brands we purchase include Apple, Samsung, Blackberry, Microsoft, HTC, LG and more. All the devices we purchase can be found on Gizmogul.com by selecting the make and mode of the device on our form.

Do I need to send any accessories with my devices?

When you send in your device, you only need to include the phone battery (unless it’s missing). You don’t have to send in any accessories with your device, but if you’d like to, we will recycle it on your behalf.

What if my device doesn’t fit in the mailer?

If for any reason your device does not fit our mailer, you may use the label we give you on another box that is suitable. We recommend you use some padding or bubble wrap to prevent any damage during transit.

What determines my devices value?

Our team of highly qualified researchers gather market data on a daily basis, which allows us to offer the best price and to make sure you are getting the most up to date and competitive price for your device. We want you to get paid!

How do I remove “iCloud” before shipping my iPhone, iPad or iPod?

iCloud is software for all Apple devices, including iPhone, iPad and iPods which offer protection to the user. Unfortunately if iCloud is still active when we receive it we can’t pay you the full quote from our site because it cost money to remove iCloud. But you can do it yourself, it’s super easy

Here’s how you turn off iCloud:

1) Open “Settings” on your device.

2) Select “iCloud” in Settings menu.

3) If Find My iPhone is ON, tap the slider to turn it OFF.

4) If you are prompted to for a password, enter your iCloud password and tap “Turn Off” to confirm.

 

I don’t see my device listed on the site, what should I do?

If you don’t see your device on our site, this means, we no longer purchase it. You can however donate a device not listed on our site and we’ll ensure it is properly recycled.

What if the device I send in doesn’t match the criteria I selected on the form?

If we receive a device that is different from your selection online, we will send you a requoted offer reflecting this new price. If you are not satisfied with the re-quoted amount, we’ll ship your device back free of charge, otherwise we are always happy to recycle it responsibly on your behalf.

Can I send in more than one device at a time?

Yes, you may select multiple devices on the site simply by selecting “add a device” in our checkout process. Gizmogul keeps a record of every device you select so we can track it through the entire process and honor the price quoted for the devices selected.

If your devices won’t fit in our mailer, you may use the label we give you on another box that is suitable. We recommend you use some padding or bubble wrap prevent any damage during transit.

How long does it take to get paid?

After we receive your shipment and our technicians confirm your device’s make, model and condition your payment will be issued immediately. Typically this takes 1-2 business days.

PayPal payments will be made instantly. Checks are sent via regular mail and should arrive within 3-5 business days, depending on the location.

When does my offer expire?

Your devices value will decline over time, but we got your back for 30 days. If we receive your device after 30 days we’ll send you a re quote via email, which is valid for 5 days with current pricing. If you do not accept or decline the requote in the allotted time the payment will automatically be processed. If you elect to decline the requote, Gizmogul will mail back your device free of charge.

Should I send my battery in?

Yes. It helps us determine whether the phone powers on and will speed up the payment process.

Do I need to remove sim cards from my phone?

Recommended, but we will remove it if you don’t, no sweat, no charge.

Do I need to wipe out my phones memory before sending it in?

We wipe all devices free of charge, but clearing the data yourself is recommended. If you need any help doing this feel free to call us and we’ll walk you through it. We will never

Do I get more money if I send in my device’s charger or accessories?

We don’t pay extra for accessories, but it’s a good way to environmentally recycle electronic waste.

How do I find my phones model number?

Generally it will be somewhere on the original box or printed on the label beneath the battery.

If my phone doesn’t power on or it has water damage is it still worth sending?

Definitely, especially if it is a higher-end phone, it still may be worth something. And if it isn’t, we’ll let you know and offer to recycle it properly.

What do I need to do anything to my phone before sending it in?

We recommend that you remove all user passwords, and take the phone off your account by deactivating it. That means ensuring the device is not iCloud locked and it has a clean ESN.

Do you buy devices that are not fully financed?

We can only purchase a device from you if you are the legal owner. Devices that are still being financed, must be paid off in full before being sent to Gizmogul.
